Cyprus<\/strong><\/a> is particularly famous for its summer resorts. Villages with beautiful beaches and well-groomed accommodations. Attentive restaurants for food and hospitable residents. But in addition to seaside destinations, Cyprus also has some mountainous ones. The village of Kalopanagiotis is one of them.<\/p>\n

It is definitely one of the most interesting mountain resorts in the country. You’ll find it in the Marathasa Valley. It is 70 km from Nicosia and Limassol. Kalopanagiotis belongs administratively to Nicosia. Arriving in the village, you can understand why this, together with Kakopetria and Platres, constitute the triad of the most cosmopolitan mountain villages in Cyprus<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first thing you will see is very picturesque architecture. Graphic two-story houses, Venetian bridges, and traditional accommodations. All this, combined with an impressive natural landscape. In summer you will sit under the shady vines, while in winter the smell of the mountain will fascinate you;<\/strong> in spring, on the other hand, the green valley of the Setrachos River creates an image of unparalleled beauty. It is no coincidence that Kalopanagiotis has faithful visitors all year round.<\/p>\n

Agios Ioannis o Lampadistis<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Particularly famous, and also a trademark of the village, is the monastery of Agios Ioannis Lampadistis. Those who have visited it, certainly know that it is on the list of UNESCO churches.<\/strong> It is one of the most interesting Byzantine monuments of Cyprus that you should get to know in person if you are there. Images of priceless value are kept in the monastery and you will see a temple with a unique architectural style. In addition to Agios Ioannis Lampadistis, Kalopanagiotis has five more churches and six chapels built between the 13th and 17th centuries.<\/p>\n
