These two facts make up the picture on one of the most famous and favoured beaches of Ios island.<\/strong><\/a> Mylopotas certainly<\/strong> boasts of the unique and relaxing moments it offers to those who visit it. You can spend your whole day there without you noticing it…<\/p>\n

The petal-shaped beach Mylopotas<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mylopotas beach is located in the southwest part of Ios island and at a distance of 3 km from the island’s main town (Chora as it is usually called in most Aegean islands). It is unquestionably the most popular and most visited beach on Ios island. It is also one of the most popular in the Cyclades<\/a>.<\/strong> Many argue that it is the best beach that Ios has. And it’s no wonder. We are talking about a unique natural landscape. A landscape that you can already enjoy while on the road to the beach, seeing it from afar. You get even more rewarded when you set foot there.<\/p>\n

Mylopotas is characterized as a petal-shaped beach since it is located in the homonymous bay, the bay of Mylopotas.<\/strong> You can see it is surrounded by rocks at both ends. These are its limits at the same time. In fact, it has a normal petal shape, with its length reaching 1 kilometre and its width in some places reaching 70 meters. ‘<\/p>\n

It has almost all the shades of blue, something you will see when you get there. It is a wonderful sandy golden beach with crystal clear water.<\/p>\n

If you want something calmer so you can enjoy your dives, Mylopotas shouldn’t be your first choice. This is because it is an extremely organized beach. Thus, a lot of people choose it for diving.<\/p>\n

\"Mylopotas: How to get to Mylopotas<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Another big advantage of this beach is the extremely easy access it has. That is, you can reach it very easily by car in about 8 minutes from Chora of the island. If you like hiking on the other hand, you can do something else. It will take you about 15 minutes to get there, choosing the path that starts from the centre of Chora.<\/p>\n

The beach of Mylopotas is one of the most beautiful beaches of the Aegean Sea<\/strong><\/a> and it is certain that you should not leave Ios island without visiting it. I’m sure you’ll put it on your list for next year.<\/p>\n
