Greece is full of surprises and wonders, both on its islands and on the mainland. One of these is a mysterious island in the Aegean Sea, known as \u201cDaskalio the enigma island\u201d<\/strong>. This is what the scientific archaeological journal \u201cWorld Archaeology\u201d calls it because it hosted a unique kind of settlement that was not found anywhere else in Europe. This rocky islet may be unfamiliar to you, but its story is very intriguing.<\/p>\n

The enigmatic island of the Aegean Sea and Its History<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Keros is an uninhabited island in the Aegean Sea that was once the site of ancient rituals. Today, researchers think that a nearby islet holds the key to the archaeological puzzle. This islet, called Daskalio, used to be connected to Keros by a strip of land 4,500 years ago. It was the island\u2019s natural harbor, facing the north, south, and west Aegean. But the sea level rose and separated Daskalio from Keros.<\/p>\n

Archaeologists have recently dug up Daskalio and found the oldest monumental buildings in the Greek world. The British Independent announced this in a statement.<\/p>\n

\"This<\/picture> Scientists say that the rocky islet has a building complex that changes how they see ancient Greece. They didn\u2019t know how big it was and how hard it was to build. They think that the early Bronze Age Greeks sailed 3,500 times to bring 7,000 to 10,000 tons of white marble from another island. They probably got it from Naxos. Each trip would need 24 people to row for five hours.<\/p>\n

The buildings and the mysteries around them<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Scientists say that the buildings have big doors, stone stairs, and a drainage system all over the island. They think that there was a skilled architect and a plan like in Knossos.<\/p>\n

The people of Daskalio were good at sailing because they got marble from Naxos. They also got obsidian and volcanic glass from Milos to make tools. They had pottery from other places too. This shows that they had a huge sea network that reached all the Cyclades and beyond. The most amazing thing they had was metal. They found places where they made bronze things like axes, chisels, and forks. They also made spear and dagger tips.<\/p>\n
