A treasury of memory worthy of its history.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the <strong>&#8220;Educational Foundation of the Municipality of Athens<\/strong>&#8220;, created by decision of the Municipal Council and initiative of the Deputy Mayor Eleftherios Skiadas and has as its main mission <strong>the identification, rescue, study, promotion, and promotion of the history, heritage, and identity of the city and the Municipality of Athens. <\/strong>The Foundation is going to utilize the huge volume of all kinds of known and unknown, documents that determined the historical course of the city.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Precious relics, forgotten and stacked, so far, in -presumably &#8211; inappropriate storage spaces, will now be gradually attributed to the world of scientific research, to Greek and international academic &#8211; research organizations, but also to the citizens and visitors of Athens.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-27113 size-jnews-750x536\" src=\"https:\/\/exploringgreece.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/%CE%A3%CF%85%CE%BD%CE%B5%CF%81%CE%B3%CE%B5%CE%AF%CE%BF-%CE%B5%CF%80%CE%B9%CF%83%CE%BA%CE%B5%CF%85%CE%AE%CF%82-%CE%BC%CE%B9%CE%BA%CF%81%CE%BF%CF%86%CE%B8%CE%BF%CF%81%CF%8E%CE%BD-%CF%84%CF%89%CE%BD-%CE%BF%CE%B4%CF%8E%CE%BD-%CF%84%CE%BF%CF%85-%CE%94%CE%AE%CE%BC%CE%BF%CF%85-%CE%91%CE%B8%CE%B7%CE%BD%CE%B1%CE%AF%CF%89%CE%BD-%CE%9C%CE%AC%CE%B9%CE%BF%CF%82-1952-750x536.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"536\" \/>In cooperation with the competent organizations of the State, such as the General Archives of the State, as well as all the institutions active in the capital, it seeks to act as the depositary and administrator of the archival and intellectual legacy of Athens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Its seat will be the building of the Municipal Palace on Athena Street<\/strong> and with methodical steps is planned to create the &#8220;Museum of the Municipality of Athens&#8221;. Its main objectives are also, <strong>the re-establishment and operation of the Historical Archive as well as the maintenance and enrichment of all kinds of archives and historical documents of the Municipality.
