Kassos island and Karpathos island. What really unites them? A special flight. Let’s see why. It is known to everyone that air travel has the magical ability to dramatically minimize the distances that separate us, since many times, in place of long ferry or road routes, it takes just an hour in the air to get where you want. However, there is an air trip whose total duration is shorter than the time it will take you to issue your ticket to board, since the flight from Kasos to Karpathos lasts a total of about five minutes!<\/p>\n

\"Airport\"<\/picture>Kasos and Karpathos, the two beautiful islands of the Dodecanese, apart from the opportunity to travel to their wonderful lands for hours by boat, also offer the alternative of shorter air travel since both have airports for several decades, to serve the increasing tourist traffic, which chooses their place for its holidays.<\/p>\n

However, the air connection is not only with the rest of Greece but also with each other, although the two islands are a little less than twenty nautical miles apart, so you manage to get from one island to the other in no time.<\/p>\n

\"Airport\"<\/picture>The short duration of this flight has deservedly put it in the list of the ten shortest that take place on a global scale. The top belonged to Scotland at that time. It doesn’t even take a minute, and many times foreign media have written articles about how quickly one can get from one island to another.<\/p>\n

The Dodecanese, however, still hold a prominent position in terms of the speed of their flights, since the above list includes the flight that covers the distance between the island of Kos and that of Kalymnos, which lasts a little less than thirty minutes, making the other a long, relaxing route.<\/p>\n

Kassos – Karpathos: Two islands worth discovering <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Apart from the unique experience of being a passenger on an airplane that seems to be teleported in space-time, these two beautiful islands are definitely worth visiting to see their wonderful scenery up close.<\/p>\n

So travel to Kassos to tour its six villages that will enchant you at first sight with their amazing architecture. Walk the paths of the island to admire its stone-built houses built in another era, the traditional churches, and its unique landscapes, composed by adding beaches and caves, always with the unforgettable view of the Aegean sunset. And then, after you get on the plane, that will make you believe that you are indeed moving at the speed of light, and reach the imaginary Karpathos.<\/p>\n

As long as you are there, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a landscape that perfectly combines mountain and sea, while its verdant vegetation will flood your eyes with green. Explore one by one its settlements full of history (see here<\/a> which beaches of Karpathos you should definitely visit), stroll through its stone-built streets and discover its museums and temples, which will make you come back full of knowledge, but above all with images and experiences.<\/p>\n

So if you were one of those who wished you could travel from one place to another, just by blinking, your wish has already come true. All you have to do is find yourself at the airport of Kasos and ask to travel to Karpathos.<\/p>\n
