You will admire the Towers of Astraka on your way to the famous Papigo in Zagorochoria. Equally beautiful is the view from Aristi, one of the most famous Zagorochoria in Epirus. It is a special formation that makes at one point the mountain range of Tymfi at the point where the peak of Astraka is located.<\/strong> From there they got their name and are called Towers of Astraka. And what traveler will not pass by car and admire this splendor of nature in the prefecture of Ioannina. And who wouldn’t take dozens of photos to remember that he found himself in one of the most imposing places in Greece. Where the mountain you think will touch the sky.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/picture>In fact, these huge rocks cast their imposing shadow on Mikro Papigo and leave you speechless with their beauty. Regarding Astraka itself, it is said that its name means<\/strong> “roof” and was given to it precisely because it stands as a roof, above the village.<\/p>\n

For the top of Astraka there are two mountaineering routes. One starts a little lower than the shelter and ascends vertically the steep slope. On the other hand, the second one starts from the shelter and is smoother. If you like mountaineering, whichever you choose you will stay with the best impressions and you will remember these routes for a lifetime…<\/p>\n
