Most shelters have a living room with a fireplace and a kitchen. The bedrooms can vary in number and size, depending on how many people the shelter can host. You can enjoy the amazing views of the mountains and the easy access to the ski trails. The refuge has a restaurant and a terrace where you can relax and admire the scenery. It also has a spacious lounge and a ski storage room. The refuge has a toilet and hot water, but no showers. The refuge can accommodate 20 people, and it has a separate room for four. The Tourist Riding and Adventure Park “Saloon Park” where, among other things, children and adults can go horse riding, rappel and climbing, archery and train is 12 km away. from the shelter. Taygetos Refuge<\/strong> is a hidden gem cherished by climbers and mountain hikers. Established in 1937 and later renovated, it\u2019s nestled at an altitude of 1,550 meters in Varvara<\/strong>. To reach this refuge, you\u2019ll embark on a hike along a well-marked trail starting from Manganiari Spring. The hike, lasting approximately an hour and a half, is facilitated by the trail\u2019s excellent condition.<\/p>\n

Parnon Refuge<\/strong> is a charming mountain shelter situated in Arnomosga, perched above the village of Vamvakou in Laconia at an elevation of 1,420 meters. Established in 1973 by E.O.S. Sparta, the same organization that manages the previously mentioned shelter, it was generously donated by Greek-American George Pierce (George Papatheodorou).<\/p>\n

The refuge can comfortably house up to 34 guests. It features a wood stove and fireplace for heating, and a gas-powered kitchen for meal preparation. Water is sourced from a natural spring located 200 meters away. The pricing and contact information are the same as the aforementioned shelter, as both are managed by the same association.<\/p>\n

Located at an altitude of 1,023 meters, it\u2019s situated below the peak of Strongoula in the village of Beekeepers, which has a curious backstory to its name. This refuge is in a geostrategic position, surrounded by a pine forest, traditional villages, old watermills, and a network of excellent hiking and mountaineering trails.<\/p>\n

\"Mountain<\/picture><\/strong>The Giona Refuge<\/strong>, also known as Grigoris Perdikis<\/strong>, is a unique shelter located in Laka Karvouni<\/strong>. It\u2019s nestled in a stunning alpine landscape at an altitude of 1,753 meters. Interestingly, it\u2019s the only refuge on Giona Mountain. For your information, Giona is a large mountain situated in the Fokida prefecture<\/strong>, north of Amfissa<\/strong> and Lidoriki.<\/strong> It\u2019s separated from Vardousia by the Mornos River<\/strong> and is home to a rich ecosystem of firs and cedars. This makes it one of the rarest mountainous natural ecosystems in Central Greece. The highest peak of Giona is the Pyramid<\/strong>, standing tall at 2,510 meters.<\/p>\n

\"Giona<\/picture>The refuge itself offers basic amenities and encourages visitors to embrace a simple lifestyle.
