The long and rich coastline of Greece, either on the mainland or on the islands, hides many interesting surprises and facts that many do not know. Especially on some beaches, you may even encounter… different weather conditions a few meters away. Something like this happens in Serifos, on the beach of Agios Sostis<\/strong>, which took its name from the homonymous church. Something special that you will understand perfectly if you are there. The beach is “split” in two, ie a strip of sand divides the beach into two parts, with one constantly affected by strong winds. This beach, with the golden beach, is located in the eastern part of the island and is indeed beautiful. You can even choose whether you like the waves or the calmer waters…<\/p>\n

The beach has golden sand with crystal clear waters, which is very close to the port of Serifos and is very easily accessible. What makes it stand out beyond its waters is the fact that it is divided into two, and in one part, they develop… different weather conditions. Of the two beaches, therefore, the left bay, called North Plakoto<\/strong>, is constantly suffering from the strong winds that blow in the area. So the right beach is the one that attracts all eyes, and on the left, move those who love the waves the most. The right, however, is considered to be the main beach of the bay, since it is the largest.<\/p>\n

Apart from the weather difference, something else that stands out on the beach and catches the eye is the chapel of Agios Sostis that stands white on the rocks of the small peninsula, right in the middle of the large bay.<\/strong> Overall, however, the environment offers you tranquility, and apart from the fine golden sand, the trees around you generously offer their shade. As for its wonderful crystal clear turquoise waters, they are quite shallow at first, with gradually increasing depth, so they are preferred by many families with young children.<\/p>\n
