A typical example is the strangest and perhaps most impressive stone staircase in Greece. The reason for the famous Skala of Vradeto<\/strong> in Epirus, and specifically in Zagorochoria<\/strong>. The three-lane staircase<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It was constructed in such a way that it had three traffic lanes, one for animals with black stone and two for humans with white, measured width calculated exactly so that animals could turn along with their bulky load, and the 1,100 cobbled steps<\/strong> that smoothly cover an altitude difference of 250 meters.<\/p>\n

The Skala of Vradeto was actually a staircase that connected the village of Vradeto<\/strong> with the village of Kapesovo<\/strong> and the rest of the surrounding places until the 70s. Now that there is no need to connect the villages through a stone staircase, since the road has been opened. This is an amazing hiking route in Zagorochoria. Apart from that, however, it is a miraculous attraction and a sample of the architecture of the stone masons. The images from above are extremely impressive, but if you are there, you will definitely stand and admire the impressively studied work that is said to have taken 20 years to build.<\/p>\n
