Cobbled streets, traditional stone buildings, traditional guesthouses, and of course a lot of greenery, are the scenery you will see. When we say traditional settlement, Dilofo is one of the first that should come to mind.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cont\">\n<p>What also makes this village of Zagori, has the tallest residence in all of Zagori, namely the <strong>Makropoulos mansion<\/strong>. Whenever he finds himself in Dilofo, at any time of the year he has the opportunity to admire the <strong>Zagorian architecture<\/strong> and see the well-preserved buildings of another era. Vikos Gorge is undoubtedly something not to be missed. The view is breathtaking at the so-called <strong>Grand Canyon of Greece<\/strong>. And of course, the area is famous for its stone bridges, some of which are centuries old. A typical example that you can see within walking distance of Dilofo is the bridge of Kokkoris or Noutsos. It is believed that the first attempt to build it was made in <strong>1750<\/strong>, while the name of Noutsos is due to its benefactor, <strong>Noutso Karamisini <\/strong>from the nearby village of Vradeto. His son, Alexis Noutsos, eventually repaired the bridge in the late 18th to early 19th century. Dilofo can be your base for a special getaway to Zagorochoria, having chosen a village as a true retreat.<\/div>\n<div>\n<h4><strong>How to get to Dilofo<\/strong><\/h4>\n<div class=\"alert alert-success\">Dilofo is about <strong>5.5 hours<\/strong> from Athens. First, follow the route to Rio &#8211; Antirio Bridge, and from there continue via Ionian Road to Ioannina. From the city of Ioannina, you will move on the National Road <strong>to Konitsa<\/strong>. The village is 34 km away from Ioannina, but the route also has turns. After the village <strong>Metamorfosi or Karyes<\/strong> you will turn right towards Central Zagori and then right again, in the village <strong>Asprangeloi<\/strong>, to <strong>Gardens<\/strong>.
