There is no doubt… Koufonisia is now one of the most cosmopolitan destinations in the Cyclades. Tourism has flourished on the island in the last decade, making it one of the first islands in traffic across the Aegean. Although their visitor numbers have increased exponentially over the years, they have managed to maintain their natural beauty. The island complex of Koufonisia consists of Ano and Kato Koufonisi and belongs to the eastern Small Cyclades. The two Koufonisia are separated by a narrow strait, 200 meters wide.<\/p>\n

Pano Koufonissi has fanatical friends and is famous for its dishes. The options for dining and entertainment are now enough, but they do not “take away” from the authentic character of the island. Wherever you sit, you will taste delicious fish appetizers and the famous lobster spaghetti of the island. If you do not try the dishes and sweets at “Kalofego” in Pori overlooking the magnificent sunset, you will have missed a unique experience.<\/p>\n

Do not miss the opportunity to eat seafood at “Aneplora” and “Captain-Nikolas”, but also to drink a cold beer and taste delicious stews at “Finikas”. As for something fast, souvlaki in “Strofi” is famous for its taste and quality. For coffee, breakfast, and dessert, you will be thrilled at “Kalamia” and “Chelona” (Nikitas). Among other things, the bakery “Giorgoula” is famous for its cheese pie, while the best ice cream in all the Cyclades is said to be served at “Pistachio”.<\/p>\n

The high celebrity of Koufonisia has led to an increase in accommodation here, until the 90s, when it was an almost deserted and completely alternative destination.
