Greece has so many beaches that it’s hard not to find exactly what you dream of. Some are even closer than you imagine. For example, next to Attica and Athens, there is a beach that fascinates you. Tsilaros beach that looks like a lake<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The beach is a bay to the north of the village of Vitala in Kymi. A beach with very clean sand and water suitable for swimming. It may not be one of the most famous beaches of Evia, but it is definitely what you are looking for if you want isolation and tranquility.<\/strong> It is a beautiful beach with white pebbles and turquoise, crystal clear waters. The verdant slopes of the mountain reach the waves. However, there are no trees on the beach, so there is no natural shade. This means that one should always have an umbrella and all the necessities with them.<\/p>\n

But why is it said to look like a lake? Because of its very calm waters and the overall landscape<\/strong>. The surrounding landscape is green, with mountains rising in every direction you look. With very fine gravel on and off the seabed, calm waters, and unique natural sounds, Tsilaros is a beach that transports you to scenery unlike the usual.<\/p>\n

A beach with history<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Tsilaros<\/strong> beach has an interesting story to tell about itself. From this beach, in occupation, escaped to Egypt, disguised as an old woman, the singer Niki Sofia Vembo. In fact, to achieve this, he had the help of the local residents, the then-Metropolitan, and the resistance organization MIDAS. A few months later, her husband, lyricist Mimis Traiforos, left the same beach.<\/p>\n

How do I get to Tsilaros?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Starting from Chalkida you head to Kymi<\/strong><\/a>. Follow the road to Konistres and continue to the village of Maletianoi. Continue on the road Kymi-Metochi until you find a dirt road to Tsilaro beach on the right. From there, you descend by dirt road about 6 kilometers to Tsilaros beach. It is about 90 km from Chalkida, which is almost 1 hour and 40 minutes, and 30 minutes away from Kymi.<\/p>\n
