Walking in the center of Athens, you may pass important sights or monuments that you may not know and do not devote the required time. The church of Agioi Theodoroi in Klafthmonos Square is one of the most important Byzantine monuments of Athens. It is a very old construction that, according to archaeologists, is influenced by even older structures. As with other Christian temples, Agioi Theodoroi in Athens were built on the ruins of an older temple, and later its form evolved.

The temple is about 1,000 years old. An inscription was erected in the middle of the 11th century, and the founder of the church is said to be the Byzantine official Nikolaos Kalomalos. Its exterior architecture is impressive, especially if you pause to observe it as you pass by.
