We may have left the summer behind, but autumn offers an excursion to one of the most beautiful and picturesque Greek islands. Surely some islands offer much more than others and but this island has the brize of peace and quietness that you might need to escape from the buzz of the city. You leave behind the summer rush and you enter at a calmer pace in the company of the serenity of the sea. One such island worth visiting is the Hydra. It's got it all, it's within a short distance from Pireus via ferry. Hydra will take you 1 hour and 30 minutes to get there with the fast line, and over 2 hours with the slower one. One thing is guaranteed, you will enjoy a good time.
Hydra: The ideal island for an autumn weekend
If you find yourself in the fall on Hydra island you will see another side, the least touristic and the most retro. This unknown side has always fascinated artists which arrived all year long and walked in its alleys admiring its endless blue. Do both. You can also swim in the fall in clear blue waters. Usually, the waters are still warm at this time of year.
