Greece stands out worldwide every year for its clean beaches. This was the case this year after winning second place in the world among 47 countries in beaches, marinas and tourist boats with Blue Flag. This is apparent from the announcement by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (SEPF), National Operator of the International Blue Flag Programme in our country. In first place is Spain. This year, the International Commission awarded 3,895 coasts, 691 marinas and 82 tourist boats worldwide.

As for the region of Greece which has the most Blue Flags, it is for another year Regional Unit of Halkidiki, with 94 flags. Besides seeing that you’re swimming on a beautiful beach, you now know how clean it is.

As far as Attica is concerned, the total beaches where Blue Flags were given for this year are 19. On the list are, of course, beaches that stand out every year. Clean waters and a beautiful environment ensure moments of relaxation without having to leave Athens. You choose the one you like and get ready to dive.
