1. Anilio Ski Center
One of the most beautiful experiences in winter in Metsovo is of course the activities in the snow. Anilio Ski in the homonymous village of Metsovo offers slopes for beginners and experienced visitors as well as children. Even if you don't like skiing or snow activities, you can enjoy your coffee or food in the chalet and relax.
2. Lake of Aoos Springs
Lake Aoos Springs cannot be missing from your list if you find yourself in the area of Metsovo. Although it is an artificial lake that was created after the construction of a dam on the river Aoos, it is characterized as a landscape of particular natural beauty and not unfairly. The scenery is composed of imposing meadows and mirror waters at an altitude of 1,350 meters, which gives you to understanding of what you will see when you are there. We suggest you find a spot high on the slopes and sit down to enjoy the view. The scenery will reward you.
3. Local traditional flavors

The winery was founded by Evangelos Averoff who had a vision to plant vines on the steep slopes of Pindos and introduce the Cabernet Sauvignon grape to Greece and today it is run by his grandson. 6. Water Power Museum of Anthochori
The Water Power Museum of Anthochori is located just outside Metsovo and specifically in the homonymous village, Anthochori. Don't expect a classic museum like the others you've seen. It is an open museum, literally, with running water in nature. Something unique and special that you don't easily find elsewhere. It is a living museum and the largest of its kind in Greece, with waterfalls, stone bridges, and water mills, where the locals still wash blankets and carpets.
7. Averofios Garden
Something you should not miss even when you are in Metsovo even for a few days is the Averofios Garden. This is the garden that you will find within a short walk, just above the central square of Metsovo, and which you will reach very easily. The Averofios Garden is filled with trees and plants that essentially represent the flora of Pindos and in its center is the church of Agios Georgios. Apart from what you will see, however, you will be fascinated by the breathtaking view of Pindos National Park.
8. Stop for tsipouro and good food
Metsovo without tsipouro and good meat is not possible. And you will understand this from the first minute you are there since the smells will confirm it. In the square and around you will find many shops that offer good grilled meat, ewe, and stews with traditional recipes of the area. In itself, this is a gastronomic experience, especially if you combine it with local tsipouro or wine and relax by the fireplace or stove.

What to do in Metsovo? Let's go to something different. This is a special experience for those initiated into different holiday experiences and especially for those who love mushrooms. The truffle hunt is organized in the forest around Metsovo and is a truly unique experience that you can organize and plan through the local companies that organize them. Apart from the fact that it is a unique experience in nature and you will learn a lot of information about truffle mushrooms, at the same time you will have the opportunity to taste delicious food made with the fruits of your exploration. 10. Gallery Averoff
In the end, but no less important and nice is a stop at Averoff Art Gallery, a cultural stop that you must do in conjunction with the Folklore Museum. The Gallery that bears the name of Averoff was also founded by the great benefactor Evangelos Averoff in 1988 and includes 200 works by some of the most important Greek artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. Most of these works were selected by the Averoff himself and the collection is considered one of the most important of that period.
