What is the film Boy on a Dolphin about?

The special thing about The Boy on the Dolphin is the fact that it is the first American Hollywood film shot in Greece. Starring Sophia Loren, Alan Land, and Clifton Webb, it is a film based on David Divine's novel Boy on a Dolphin.

The child and the dolphinSophia Loren stars as Phaedra, a young sponge diver on Hydra. One day, she finds an ancient statue at the bottom of the sea. It shows a boy on a dolphin. She tells her Albanian lover, Rif, and the island’s English doctor, Dr. Hawkins, about her discovery. Dr. Hawkins goes to Delos and learns that the statue is from the Roman era. He even thinks that the statue has magical powers.
