Η οροσειρά της Πίνδου διατρέχει σχεδόν εξολοκλήρου την δυτική πλευρά της χώρας με μήκος που αγγίζει πάνω από 200 χιλιόμετρα, ξεκινώντας από το οροπέδιο της Κορυτσάς στο βορρά και φτάνοντας σχεδόν τον Κορινθιακό κόλπο στο νότο.
Στην Πίνδο υπάρχουν δύο εθνικοί δρυμοί: ο Βάλια Κάλντα και του Βίκου-Αώου. Η οροσειρά περιλαμβάνει επίσης σημαντικές βουνοκορφές όπως τα Τζουμέρκα και τα Άγραφα, φαράγγια και κοιλάδες, που φιλοξενούν σπάνια είδη πανίδας.
