Penteli, Parnitha and Ymittos are the best known and the ones that will definitely offer you the opportunity for a pleasant escape. Explore the small forests, talk about the trees and animals that live there. Organize family hikes on the various paths. Parnitha will definitely be suitable for this. From Ymittos you will have the opportunity in some places to see Athens panoramically. So it's a good opportunity for a mini geography lesson. If it's good weather, schedule a picnic. Load the bikes into the car and start for a Sunday full of rides and fun. Many of the parks of Athens and Attica in general are suitable for this. Syngrou Grove is one of them. In an area of hundreds of acres ,young and old enjoy bike rides on Sundays. You will discover countless circular rides and paths in the green and the whole family will enjoy a relaxed bike ride on the beautiful trails. The velodrome in Peristeri Grove is also the ideal place for cycling and its very safe. The same applies to the Goudi Park where you can generally enjoy a nice Sunday walk and a bike ride.

Favorite destination not only of those who live in southern Attica but also of people who come from a little further away for the beauty of the spot.
